Statement
SkillPath commits to making a positive impact in all we do as a learning and development provider. This not only means delivering effective and engaging training experiences for our clients and participants, but also identifying and implementing measures that enhance our sustainability.
As we operate our day-to-day business, we’ve identified and implemented measures to improve our sustainability, which impacts how we market to participants, host and manage our training events, and reduce or remove unnecessary waste.
SkillPath has adopted a digital-first policy to reduce our carbon footprint and our reliance on non-renewable fossil fuels, as well as eliminate waste and conserve energy. We’ve focused on making changes in the following areas:

Travel/Location
We have significantly reduced in-person training events, hosting 99% of our scheduled programs in a virtual environment. We encourage our enterprise customers to book training events over Zoom when possible or opt for on-demand training.
For in-person events, SkillPath selects centralized locations that are easily accessible by participants, and we hire local facilitators to eliminate air travel. If supplies are needed, we use local vendors rather than ship from our location.
We also hold a majority of client meetings over Zoom rather than traveling to the customer’s site.
In our offices, we’ve implemented a hybrid work model to reduce employee gas consumption, and we hire remote employees where it makes sense.

Waste
To eliminate paper waste and gas consumption, SkillPath has significantly reduced the amount of mail we ship, and we’ve leaned heavily into digital marketing, electronic registrations and online communications. We’ve converted all printed training workbooks to fillable digital PDFs, and we are offering more digital products.
In our facilities, SkillPath recycles paper goods, aluminum and plastic. We repair or purchase refurbished technology when possible, and reuse or repurpose office furniture.

Energy/Water
Internally, SkillPath conserves energy by setting all lights on sensors. We’ve added an HVAC control panel to reduce heating and cooling use.
We provide ice machines and filtered water to employees, and we give all new employees water bottles to reduce plastic waste.
